This Thursday, we are looking forward to attending the 2019 Farmers Weekly Awards, with our customer Susie Macmillan of The Mac’s Farm in East Sussex.
Susie is one of two finalists, in the running for Poultry Farmer of the Year award.
Held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London the awards, now in their 15th year, celebrate the very best of British farming by recognising and rewarding innovation, hard work and passion for agriculture.
Poultry Farmer of the Year is one of 14 categories in the awards. If Susie wins the Poultry Farmer of the Year title, it would put her in the running for the overall Farmer of the Year Award, awarded to the farmer judged to be the ‘Winner of Winners’!
The Mac’s Farm is home to 18,000 organic layers housed in three houses, with an emphasis on high bird health and welfare. In the words of Farmers Weekly, they were selected as a finalist because, “The Mac’s Farm does a superb job in combining community engagement with a profitable organic egg business.”
Humphrey Feeds and Pullets provide The Mac’s Farm with both their pullets and organic poultry feed and are delighted to have been invited to attend the awards with Susie, in recognition of our contribution to helping improve their organic egg production.
From everyone at Humphrey Feeds and Pullets, we wish Susie and her family the very best luck!
